It's highly recommended to play the demo on Steam, the itch version is outdated.

Demo out now on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1779280/Humankind_in_a_nutshell/

Humankind in a nutshell is a roguelike where the rise and fall of civilizations is decided by the spin of a slot. Plant a seed, and watch it become a kingdom. Trade in stone, and trade out steel. Every turn is a millennium. Every choice, a legacy.

You will not place your symbols. You will choose them — and then surrender to fate as the board scatters your civilization across the ages. From the first campfire to the towers of the modern world, no two histories are ever written the same.

How long can your people endure?

Nice and easy game, beat it first try on like turn 80. When's the full game releasing?

Thank you! It’s going to be released around August.

Hi, i just saw your devlog post and i tried the demo, the game is amazing it's my kind of game, also the music is a banger. one problem is maybe the ballencing the attacks are really agressive for a new save, maybe the game hate me or i am bad at it.

Interesting idea to add a levelling and research tree mechanic to this type of game!

I did worry when I was aiming for a 'build' that the options on the tree would water my build down, without the ability to pivot to a new build because of what seems like very limited ways to trim the deck.

Good stuff here! In games like these I'm a fan of cards having a 'type' meaning that other cards can interact with that type, not just specific cards.

Aside from a few visibility issue in tutorial, Qin shi huang is the first emperor of the whole china, but he is not the first emperor of Qin. There are many before him.

Thanks for the feedback.
Tutorial visibility issue is fixed and Qin shi huang's title is also changed to the first emperor of China.

Great game, I got to turn 100 with a forest, deer build. I felt like money was so hard to get in the first couple of rounds, then I had too much money. Adding more ways to remove items early would be great. Also, picking a preset of a biome would be good at teaching how to play the game. Thank you!

Thanks for a really helpful feedback.
If you don't mind could you explain a bit more about the biome preset idea? I'm very interested in any ideas that could help with onboarding. Thank you.
